New Moon

This New Moon in Taurus, like every New Moon is a time for new beginnings, new intentions, and fresh starts. It’s a time when I like to make a hot mug of herbal tea, light some candles, sit back with my journal, and just be.

Each New Moon comes with its unique energy depending on what sign the moon is currently in. If you’re able to tap into that energy and understand it, you can use it to enhance and heal your life.

It’s no secret that eclipse season has had us all here, there, and everywhere, we don’t know whether we’re coming or going! This New Moon in Taurus begins a lunar cycle centered around coming back to basics and rebuilding our foundations after the intensity of Eclipse season.

It allows us to come back to our bodies, our material world, and the earth. It is a potent time to raise our self-worth and abundance.

From Aries to Taurus Season

We stepped out of Aries energy last month which was a masculine, fire sign, a fiery little sign you may say. Aries is all about initiation, leadership, and taking charge.

The beautiful moon phases.

Whereas Taurus energy is there to give form and function to that which was started by Aries. It is a feminine, earth sign, it is practical, stable, and looks to nurture anything that needs to grow. It taps into how we can materialize our dreams and consolidate what we have started thanks to the fiery impulse of Aries.

While Aries corresponds to the moment of birth and our intuition, Taurus has to do with matter, form, and flesh. It is more about being in the physical, realizing we are a body and need to create conditions and an environment for our bodies to thrive.

Saying this, it is important not to get trapped in the physical world by only following desire and forgetting spirituality and a higher purpose.

Taurus energy

Taurus is ruled by Venus, the energy of Love, Luxury, and connecting to others. Venus lends Taurus its appreciation for beauty, its connection to sensuality and pleasure, and its association with divine feminine energy.

It’s about focusing on self-love and building a solid sense of value within yourself. Taurus energy is to experience the physical pleasures of life but to also understand that your real value is your self-worth, which does not come from anything external.

It is important to value yourself to ensure that you do not mistakenly seek it in material things. When you learn to accept yourself for who you are, peace and tranquility in the outside world will be more attainable.

I invite you to contemplate your feelings toward self-worth and pay attention to the value attributed to our time, energy, and resources.

Self-love journal prompts

  • Where am I saying yes, when I would really like to say no?
  • Are my thoughts supporting me? Can I choose more nurturing thoughts?
  • What is one thing that you are going to do today that supports your self-love?

As we connect with the earth element of Taurus, it reminds us to strengthen our practice of grounding and centering. Taurus energy can have you feeling a little stuck in your ways, stubborn, or resistant to change. So it is important to be a witness to yourself and let go, stop swimming upstream, go with the flow, and learn to accept change as part of your life. I know, easier said than done, right?

It is an invitation to reconnect with our own gifts and talents and explore how we can apply our skills to generate resources. Taurus energy is all about fulfilling our needs directly, with a more intensified reflection on what you need to feel safe and secure. Are there areas in your life where you wish for more safety? Or do you feel like you need to take control more in certain situations?

This energy is connected to our relationship with money, abundance, and wealth. Through Taurus energy we learn to receive what the universe is handing to us, we learn to hold and grow abundance. Generating new resources but also nurturing the ones we currently have can help in our abundant growth.

We have a choice in how we view the world and how we make use of the resources available to us. We can see the world from a place of lack and think there is not enough to go around, or we come from a place of abundance where everyone can prosper.

A scarcity mindset can bring traits that we would prefer to hide away out into the open. Such as envy, fear of letting go, competition for possessions, love, and even time. Even if we begin to accumulate abundance with this mindset we may feel like we don’t deserve it and self-sabotage. This way of thinking limits us, our dreams, and our opportunities.

On the other hand, an abundant mindset teaches us there is more than enough for everyone. More money, more time, and unlimited love! When we live from abundance and give gratitude for what we have, we begin to attract more of what we want.

This is an invitation to reflect on what is valuable to us and explore our value system. It is a chance to notice our relationship with abundance and what we value.

Abundance journal prompts

What does abundance mean to you?

Where do you feel lacking in abundance?

Where do you feel abundant in your life?

So with all that being said, it’s time to sit with yourself on this New Moon in Taurus. It is a wonderful time to set your intentions and goals and take those first steps to achieve them, no matter how small you think they are. You’ve got this!
